.... Stan
I wanted to pass along some feedback we received from our friends. As you know I've invited several friends and their children (on many occasions) and every time our friends have been very pleased with their experience! Yesterday, our friend Beth, made it a point to say how good Stan is with the kids and how comfortable he makes people feel. His attention to safety, his positive encouragement and how he makes it a point to say something nice to each child. From my personal perspective, from our friends and some of the racers I know personally, I think he does a fine job and is excellent with your customers.
On a personal note, I have been very happy with the "Cherry Valley" experience. Your knowledge and your ability to always help in every way is extremely important and valuable to me and our family. Even though I live 30 minutes from other kart tracks we choose to drive 2 hours to Cherry Valley.
The people I come in contact with are very pleased with the track the staff and with you and the vast wisdom you bring to the sport. Cherry Valley is a great place and you are doing a great job! I encourage you to keep up the good work because with time and continued dedication the future of Cherry Valley looks very bright.
I know that people have a tendency to complain when they don't like something. I thought you should know when things go well.
Continued success, Tony, Christa & Isabella Barbagallo
First I was able to get into a real 125cc racing kart. Second I was able to do it on a weekday when I had the track all to myself. After this post that might not happen again. The cost per lap was compelling. Finally, I got enough of a walkthrough not to make a fool of myself.
I met with Stan at the track at 10AM and he had everything ready to go. He briefed me on some of the common rookie errors of snapping the read end in a corner and stalling at the hairpin. Then he took the time to show me the preferred line and point out some of the visuals as we walked the track. A brief how to climb into the driving position without bending any steering component was demonstrated. A quick instruction on getting going after the engine roared to life with the portable starter and I was on my way.
I signed up for 30laps and had promised myself that I would do 5 recognizance laps and stop to and evaluate what had just happen. To my joy I found that those laps where more spirited than I anticipated. The kart handled quick but predictably. I got the rear loose once but it was under control. However I was glad I stopped. It was more physical work than I realized. On this break Stan came over and gave me some encouragement. Soon I was off again and was pushing much harder. Another break then off again. I felt that I was hitting the marks rather well and not a stall or a spin occurred. When I came in this time we noticed that the left front was down on pressure. Stan had it back in a couple of minutes. My last set of laps I felt were my quickest. However, I was getting mentally and physically tired. On my last lap I made two errors that I did not like so I called it a day.
I’m positive that I got my moneys worth and then sum more. I know I enjoyed ever moment and Stan was a great help.
Now here’s the part to make you all jealous, my beautiful wife of 39+ years has encouraged me to go do it again.
the insight i've learned about carborators and other things will help me with my racing this summer. they are willing to share technical info and other informative data to help anyone go faster.
why? because they love the sport of kart racing and want to see others do well too. i was there saturday and learned a lot about the fuel system and how it works.
i went back the next day and helped out around the track.
the track has been sitting idle for the past 2 or 3 years and much work is needed.
VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
i passed up a day of motorcycle riding and fishing to give them a hand. they bought pizza for everyone there helping and couldn't thank us enough.
please offer you help in getting this track ready for the season. we will all benefit from it.
i look forward to racing at cherry valley this summer. and so should you.
